We’ve certainly seen a “slowing down” of salaries and salary increases being offered in the recruitment market and from our SME clients in general and this is good news as we have seen some huge increases following the pandemic.

As the scarcity of candidates to fill jobs eases a bit and inflation weakens the average UK wage increase is expected to be between 3-4% in 2025 according to Reuters and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) expects the median basic pay increase to remain at 3% in the next 12 months.

It’s important that you benchmark your salaries to ensure you remain competitive and there are plenty of free salary surveys out there with data to help you make a robust decision, or you can just ask us to do the leg work for you as we have access to Croner Reward, the largest database of UK salary data.

We are still hearing from candidates when we are recruiting for our clients that they want more holiday, flexibility and working from home and these are the things that many employees are looking for from their next role and these things are becoming more important than just the basic salary.

If you want some help and guidance on salary and benefits please  get in touch, we’d be happy to discuss what you are offering versus market/industry averages.
